Liverpool are currently among those competing for the title.
The Reds have been impressive in the first half of the campaign and are currently firmly in the title race.
They have been the most entertaining team to follow by far, scoring the most goals of any team to date.
At the other end, though, thing shave not been as smooth with their defence currently the joint worst of the top seven teams.
Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp during the warm up before the match
It has been suggested that could end up costing them this season and Neville has urged them to find a defence like Leicester City did last year to take advantage of their best chance of winning the title in a number of years.
"This season, they may never have a better chance (of winning the league),” he told Sky Sports.
“Liverpool are a damn good side under Jurgen Klopp, fantastic to watch but they have this one huge failing and it cost them a league title three years ago… their record defensively is poor.”
"Those players have to seize this moment now. If they can pull together a defence like Leicester did last season they’ve got an opportunity to win the league."
Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp celebrates with Joel Matip after the game
It remains to be seen if Liverpool look to improve their defence in the January transfer window.
So far Jurgen Klopp has steadfastly defended his players but with Chelsea starting to pull away in recent weeks, perhaps his opinion will be changed.
Much is likely to rest on the fitness of Joel Matip also. He has been missing in recent weeks with various injuries and should his fitness continue to be an issue it would not be surprising to see Liverpool look at adding in defence.
