Leeds United are chasing promotion to the Premier League.
Former Crystal Palace and Republic of Ireland striker has been commenting on the promotion chances of Leeds United – and has urged Massimo Cellino to give Garry Monk the cash in January to ensure they make it back to the Premier League.
Leeds defeated Brentford thank to a late goal from Kyle Bartley yesterday, which ensures they are still pushing for the promotion places in the Championship going into Christmas.
Leeds owner Massimo Cellino
Morrison was a pundit on Sky Sports EFL Goals Show yesterday (17/12/2016) when he spoke of his belief that many neutrals would love to see Leeds back in the Premier League – but that Cellino needs to bankroll the arrival of another striker:
“Definitely. With Chris Wood out , they need a natural striker.
“Leeds are a massive club and I think everyone would like them back in the Premier League.
“I think Mr Cellino should back Garry Monk in January to push for promotion to the Premier League.”
Leeds United's Chris Wood celebrates after scoring their second goal
Leeds are of course enjoying a sensational season under their new manager Monk and Cellino has done well to avoid major criticism from his own fans throughout this campaign.
Top scorer Wood is now set for a return from injury but Leeds do lack a potent back-up for the Kiwi striker and this is the area most Leeds fans would like to see strengthened in the January window.
Time will tell if Cellino can bankroll such a move for Leeds United.
