Steve Bruce has told Aston Villa’s official website that he is delighted that Mile Jedinak is part of his squad at Villa Park.
Jedinak was signed by Roberto Di Matteo last summer, as the Italian boss aimed to strengthen his midfield options.
However, the Australian struggled to show his top form during his first few appearances at Villa Park.
Jedinak looked off the pace when he first arrived at Villa, but he has turned things around under Bruce.
The former Crystal Palace man has been brilliant in recent weeks, with his powerful performances helping the Villans climb up the Championship table.
Jedinak now plays an important role in Villa’s team, and Bruce admits that the 32-year-old is vital to his side.
“He’s been a very good player throughout his career, there’s no question about that,” Bruce said.
“We’re delighted to have him here at Aston Villa.
“He has very strong leadership skills. He leads the team very well.
“He has that silent, steely determination and he’s played very, very well for me.”
Jedinak’s form has helped Villa make a hugely impressive start to life under Bruce’s leadership.
The claret and blues have lost just one of Bruce’s first nine games in charge, and they have moved to within four points of the play off spaces.
