Klopp recently criticised former United defender Neville for being too critical of Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius.
“The pundits — former players most of them — forgot completely how it felt when they got criticised,” The Daily Mail has quoted the Liverpool manager as saying. “Especially the Neville brothers.
“The one who was the manager, he obviously should know that too much criticism never helps. But he is not interested in helping a Liverpool player, I imagine.”
Neville has made an amusing response to Klopp’s comments on Twitter.
Haha. I'm not a chef but I know a good steak ! https://t.co/8YcrUo0t8o— Gary Neville (@GNev2) December 12, 2016
Neville is a fascinating football pundit and arguably the best in England, and he can be very critical of players.
After all, it is the former England international defender’s job to be analytical and give his opinion.
While Klopp is right that too much criticism does not any help any player, it must be remembered that Neville is not there to help any footballer.
Karius is a very good goalkeeper and arrived at Liverpool in the summer with a strong reputation.
True, the 23-year-old has made mistakes this season, but fans should have faith in the former Mainz goalkeeper.
Liverpool are third in the Premier League table at the moment with 31 points from 15 matches.
The Merseyside outfit are six points behind leaders Chelsea and are very much in the race for the title this season.
