Winston Reid was in excellent form as West Ham United picked up a 2-2 draw against Liverpool.

West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic has told BBC Sport that he wishes he had more players like Winston Reid.

West Ham’s defence has been shaky this term, but Reid is arguably the finest centre-back available to Bilic.

The New Zealand international was at his best yesterday, as West Ham collected a draw against Liverpool at Anfield.

And Bilic admits that if West Ham had more players like Reid, they may not be in such trouble.

“He’s a great player, that I really like,” Bilic said. “Every time we need reactions on the box, more or less, it’s mostly Reid. If we had three Reids there [that would be great] and again he was magnificent today.”

West Ham had fallen behind against Liverpool, when Adam Lallana found space in the box and tucked home early on.

At that stage there were fears that Bilic’s side could have collapsed, but West Ham fought back.

Goals from Dimitri Payet and Michail Antonio put them into the lead, and although they were unable to hold on to claim all three points, the Hammers still picked up a positive result.

West Ham are now in 17th place in the Premier League table, with their next match coming against Burnley on Wednesday.
