Tottenham have been drawn against Belgian club Gent in the round of the 32 of the Europa League.

Spurs will head into the two-legged Europa League tie against Genk as favourites.

Former Arsenal forward Nicholas believes that Tottenham will go all the way in the competition and will win it.

“As it stands right now, despite what happened on Sunday, I would tip Spurs as the favourites to win this competition with the way Mauricio Pochettino treats it seriously,” Nicholas wrote on

“It was a very different situation when they rested players against Dortmund last year with a title race on their hands.

“Pochettino will be looking at this as a real opportunity to get back in the Champions League and win his first trophy.”

A footnote added: “Charlie’s verdict: Tottenham to qualify.”

Tottenham are one of the best and strongest teams left in the Europa League this season.

However, the Europa League is a very tough tournament to win and is arguably more competitive than the Champions League.

While Spurs should be backed to win against Gent over two legs in the round of 32, one should not get carried away with their chances of clinching the competition.
