Former Derby County midfielder was delighted to see his old side beat Nottingham Forest.

Former Derby County star Robbie Savage was in high spirits after the Rams demolished bitter rivals Nottingham Forest.

Derby beat Forest 3-0 in Sunday's match in a one sided game which saw Steve McClaren's side continue their impressive run of form.

Savage was delighted to see Derby get the win, and reached out to pal Lee Westwood, a Ryder Cup winning golf star and Nottingham Forest supporter.

Westwood did not respond, which was probably wise, with Savage clearly attempting to wind him up.

Derby's win helped them climb further ahead of 16th place Forest in the league table, but it was more valuable to Rams fans in terms of bragging rights.

The Rams won the previous meeting between the two teams 1-0 back in March, which followed two successive Forest wins in the fixture.

Forest have a chance to bounce back with successive home fixtures against Preston North End and Wolves, but if they fail to win either, then manager Philippe Montanier will find himself under huge pressure, with matches away to Huddersfield and Newcastle set to round off the month.
