Newcastle United goalkeeper made his return from injury.
Newcastle United goalkeeper Rob Elliot made his long awaited comeback last night in a win over Aston Villa.
Elliot suffered a serious knee injury last season which saw him miss Newcastle's relegation run in, and Euro 2016 where he was set to start for Republic of Ireland.

Newcastle won the game 4-2, with Curtis Good, Stuart Finlay, Tom Heardman and Liam Smith all scoring.
Elliot was delighted to come through the fixture unscathed and record a win, commenting on Twitter after the game.
Great to make my come back from injury tonight. Great performance from the u23s. Fantastic to be out on st James again!! On to the next— Rob Elliot (@the_dilsh) December 12, 2016
Elliot had emerged as Newcastle's first choice goalkeeper with Tim Krul out injured, but faces a battle to win back his place.

Karl Darlow has stepped up in recent weeks, usurping summer signing Matz Sels as Rafa Benitez's number one, and kept a clean sheet at the weekend in a 4-0 win over Birmingham City.
Newcastle are flying high in the Championship at the moment, and Benitez will not want to rotate the goalkeeping position unnecessarily, or rush Elliot, but the 30-year-old's return certainly gives the Spaniard an extra option.
