Phil Neville criticises Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli

Tottenham Hotspur were beaten 1-0 by Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Phil Neville has told the Daily Mail that Tottenham Hotspur attacking midfielder Dele Alli did nothing against Manchester United yesterday.

Spurs slipped to a 1-0 defeat against United at Old Trafford, and they struggled to create chances during the encounter.

Although Tottenham did forge a good opportunity for Victor Wanyama, they had very few other clear-cut chances.

Part of the reason for this, was because a number of Tottenham’s attacking players were short of their best at Old Trafford.

And Neville was particularly critical of Dele Alli and Harry Kane, who both failed to function.

“I was disappointed by Spurs today particularly in the final third. They didn't have anything up front,” Neville said.

“Harry Kane had a really disappointing day. Dele Alli didn't do anything.”

Kane was actually at fault for the goal which Tottenham conceded, as he gave possession away on the half way line, and United punished Spurs.

The defeat was Pochettino’s men’s second loss of the campaign, and it leaves them 10 points behind league leaders Chelsea.

Tottenham are next in action on Wednesday evening, when they take on Hull City at White Hart Lane.
