Paul Lambert wants Wolverhampton Wanderers to strengthen defensively

Wolverhampton Wanderers conceded four goals against Fulham last weekend.

Paul Lambert has suggested to the Daily Star that Wolverhampton Wanderers are on the look out for defensive additions.

Wolves drew their last match 4-4 against Fulham, in what was a pulsating encounter at Molineux.

And although Lambert was encouraged by his side’s attacking display, he has hinted that some experienced defenders will be on Wolves’ shopping list in January.

“We need a little bit of help in January - a bit of know how,” he said.

“We’ve got to be stronger defensively but we look a threat going forward.”

Wolves were 3-1 down against Fulham at one stage in the match, but they showed fantastic fighting spirit to get back into the game.

Second half goals from Matt Doherty, Ivan Cavaleiro and Dave Edwards put Wolves into the lead, but just as it looked like they would claim the three points - Fulham struck an equaliser in the last minute.

Lambert’s men are now in 19th place in the Championship table - just two points above the relegation zone, and 10 points away from the play offs.

Wolves are next in action tomorrow evening, when they take on Cardiff City.
