Newcastle United fans were happy with the 29-year-old on Saturday.
Newcastle United fans were left swooning over Mohamed Diame's performance against Birmingham City on Saturday.
Another man who impressed was Diame in what was probably his best performance in a Newcastle shirt following his £4.5 million switch from Hull in the summer.
The 29-year-old arrived on Tyneside as a fine asset, having helped the Tigers to Premier League promotion just a few months previous.
But it was a difficult start to life at St James's Park for the Senegal international and Newcastle fans are hoping that he kicks on from here.
Can't get over the difference in Diame on Saturday like, completely different player to what we've seen so far. Hope he keeps it up #nufc— José Andersoni (@createskateV2) December 12, 2016
Hopefully that was the start of the real Diame on Saturday— Shaun Menzies (@SHAUNMENZIES) December 12, 2016
DIAME'S GONNA GET YAH!— Gilmour (@PaulGilmour1) December 12, 2016
I thought Yaya Toure had put on Newcastle shirt yesterday the way Diame was ploughing through the park, like a diff player #nufc— John (@baldy_john) December 11, 2016
@Asallsince1993 I think he'd excel there for Newcastle, but after both his and Diame's performances yesterday, no need to change either atm.— Andrew Lawes (@LawesDisorder) December 11, 2016
Diame played his best game in a Newcastle shirt today, but man of the match has to go to Anita, outstanding from start to finish @Vurnon— Shaun Menzies (@SHAUNMENZIES) December 11, 2016
Back to winning ways for Newcastle today— MikeWallace (@mwally13) December 10, 2016
Dwight Gayle is levels above with a hat-trick and even Diame tbf put a solid shift in for once
Diame, who also got a fine assist for Gayle's first-half opener, is yet to open his account in the Championship in the goalscoring stakes, and that is certainly an area to improve on.
