Land of Giants: Premier League tallest players XI

Manchester United's Zlatan Ibrahimovic shoots at goal as Southampton's Fraser Forster looks on

We pick an XI with some of the tallest players in the Premier League.

Fraser Forster (6ft 7) has been ever-present in goal for Southampton in the league this season. The England stopper has also kept five clean sheets for the Claude Puel’s Saints side.

Scott Dann (6ft 5) and Per Mertesacker (6ft 6) make a colossal centre-back pairing. Crystal Palace captain Dann has made over 100 appearances for the Eagles since joining from Blackburn Rovers in January of 2013. Mertesacker is yet to play for Arsenal this campaign due to a knee injury.

The towering full-backs of this XI are Martin Kelly (6ft 3) and Tyrone Mings (6ft 5). Kelly joined Palace in 2009 from Liverpool, while Mings signed for Bournemouth last year from Ipswich Town.

Marouane Fellaini (6ft 4) and Nemanja Matic (6ft 4) are the centre-midfielders in this XI. Fellaini has over 200 Premier League appearances since moving to Everton from Standard Leige in 2008. The Belgian has played 12 times for Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United this season.

Matic won the Premier League title under Mourinho at Chelsea in 2015. The ex-Benfica man has returned to form under new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte.

Marco Arnautovic (6ft 3) and Edmilson Fernandes (6ft 3) offer some height out wide. Stoke signed Arnautovic from Werder Bremen in 2013, and the Austrian international went on bag ten assists in his debut season.

After turning heads for Swiss side Sion in last years’ Europa League, Fernandes moved to West Ham United in the summer. The midfielder started in the Hammers’ recent 5-1 defeat to Arsenal.

Peter Crouch (6ft 7) and Zlatan Ibrahimovic (6ft 5) lead the line in this team of giants. Crouch has made nine appearances for Stoke City this campaign. The forward has had spells with Tottenham, Liverpool, Portsmouth, Aston Villa, Southampton and Norwich City.

35-year-old Ibrahimovic finally moved to the Premier League this summer with Manchester United. The Swedish striker has eight Premier League goals in fourteen games.
