Kane handed Tottenham Hotspur a huge boost recently by signing a new deal at White Hart Lane.
Teddy Sheringham has suggested that Harry Kane must be confident that Tottenham Hotspur are moving in the right direction after the striker put any speculation about his future to bed by signing a new contract at White Hart Lane, The Sun reports.
Kane handed Spurs a major boost recently by agreeing a new deal that is set to keep him at the club until 2022, and Sheringham explained how big a message their star player signing a contract extension sends out about the ambitions that Tottenham have.
"It is a good precedent — for Harry to commit his future to Tottenham when I reckon all of the top clubs in the world would have been interested in signing him," he said, as reported by The Sun.
Tottenham's Harry Kane celebrates
"He could have gone anywhere for any amount of money but he is obviously loving playing for Tottenham.
"He is playing for England and has ambitions at club level as well and wants to play in the top matches and top finals. He obviously thinks Spurs are going in the right direction."
With Tottenham winning so many plaudits for their style and substance since Mauricio Pochettino's arrival, having so many players, including Kane, sign new deals is undoubtedly a massive statement of intent from the club.

Sky Sports reported that the likes of Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen and Danny Rose were among the numerous first-team stars that have recently put pen to paper on new contracts.
And keeping that core together will surely be hugely beneficial to their chances of remaining in the title picture for several years to come.
Potential transfer targets will see that several important players have committed their futures to the club and may feel that that is an indication of the ambition that Tottenham possesses.
