Aston Villa edged out the Latics 1-0 on Saturday afternoon.
The 21-year-old midfielder netted an 88th-minute winner as Aston Villa edged out Wigan Athletic 1-0 at Villa Park yesterday.
It was a fine goal and a big reminder of Grealish's talents, having occasionally made headlines for the wrong reasons during his time in the senior set-up.
And Bruce has told the club's website that he is delighted to be working with the enigmatic midfielder and says it's great that he is getting the right kind of noises.
He said: "He will get the headlines for the right reasons – and rightly so. It was a great goal from Jack. I am really, really pleased for him.
"I am delighted I have him under my wing and I will try and help him.
"It’s not easy for a 21-year-old now. But thankfully we are talking about him in the right way tonight because it was a truly wonderful goal."
Aston Villa moved three points adrift of the playoff places as a result of their late win over the Latics.
It was an excellent response from Bruce's side after losing 2-0 at Leeds United last time around, but there is a bit about the Villans since the 55-year-old took over from Roberto Di Matteo and they'll hope to make inroads toward the top six from now on.
