The Aston Villa pair were pleased with the 1-0 triumph.
Aston Villa picked up a hard-fought win in the Championship yesterday, defeating Wigan Athletic at Villa Park.
It was a tough game for Steve Bruce’s side, having to battle throughout to pick up the narrow 1-0 triumph.
Aston Villa's Jack Grealish in action
The goal from Villa came from Jack Grealish, who is really coming to the fore this season. The talented winger scored the winning goal and was clearly happy to have won the game for his beloved club at Villa Park.
He posted this message on Twitter after the game:
Great win today & a great feeling to score the winner ⚽️ pic.twitter.com/gLxP3CDjEX— Jack Grealish (@JackGrealish1) December 10, 2016
One of his team-mates was also at it.
Fellow Aston Villa youth-team graduate Gary Gardner also took to Twitter after the game. He commented on how tough a game it was against the struggling Lactics but thanked Grealish for bailing the side out in this tough fixture:
Aston Villa are still unbeaten at Villa Park and this was another win under Steve Bruce. It was a welcome three points after the recent defeat against Leeds United and Villa are now 13th in the Championship table – but just three points behind Sheffield Wednesday in the final play-off position.
