Celtic skipper Scott Brown hails Kolo Toure

The Celtic skipper has paid tribute to the big Ivorian.

Celtic captain Scott Brown has told The Sunday Post that Brendan Rodgers did a fine job on the recruitment front this past summer.

The Hoops are eight points clear of second-placed Rangers but they also have the luxury of three games in hand; meaning they are potentially 17 points ahead.

Rodgers has a done a fine job after replacing Ronny Deila and it is safe to say that the Bhoys have been head and shoulders above the rest so far in the Premiership.

Much of that is largely down to his pre-season signings - and in particular Moussa Dembele.

The French hitman has netted 17 goals in all competitions following his £500,000 switch from Fulham, but the likes of Scott Sinclair and Kolo Toure have also done well.

Toure came in for criticism following his performance in the 4-3 win at Motherwell last week, but Brown says the former Arsenal and Manchester City star is a "proper leader".

“Moussa we have just talked about. Scott Sinclair has been brilliant while Kolo Toure has shown himself to be a proper leader as well," he told The Post.

“It has not just been their impact on the park, either. They have all proved themselves to be good lads in the dressing-room, not just on the park.

“We have got a great team spirit. There is no one there you think you don’t want to talk to, or who won’t put their body on the line for you.”
