Everton lost again in the Premier League this afternoon after a shocking capitulation against Watford saw them lose 3-2 at Vicarage Road.

Everton took the lead through Romelu Lukaku but then defended poorly as Watford stretched away to a 3-1 lead. Lukaku grabbed a late goal to provide an exciting finale but in the end the Hornets claimed glory.

Many of the Everton players failed to cover themselves in glory. Lukaku, for his brace, was cumbersome and offered little. If he had tried, who knows how many he might have scored.

Kevin Mirallas was a phantom, James McCarthy off pace and even Ashley Williams did not have his best game.

But it was Seamus Coleman who got most of the stick from Everton fans on Twitter. The reason for that however is that Everton have a brilliant young replacement waiting in the wings.

Mason Holgate had an excellent start to the season with Coleman out injured. He has dropped to the bench since Coleman returned and Everton, defensively, have capitulated.

Many an Everton fan wants to see Holgate back in the first-team and Coleman dropped to the bench.
