Southampton fans are losing patience with the winger they signed from Norwich City in the summer.

Southampton fans are losing patience with summer signing Nathan Redmond, it seems.

Redmond has missed just two games since his £11 million switch from Norwich City and has started 18 of his 21 outings.

In that time, however, the 22-year-old has contributed just three goals and not a single assist, despite often being deployed in a more advanced second striker’s role.

Redmond was moved back to the left flank for Thursday’s Europa League tie against Israeli side Hapoel Be’er Sheva, which Southampton had to win to progress to the competition’s last-32 stage.

However, they failed to do so, with Virgil van Dijk’s late effort only enough to salvage a point at St. Mary’s, after Hapoel took a shock 78th-minute lead through Maor Buzaglo.

And it is England Under-21 star Redmond who appears to have taken most of the flack. Here’s how his display was received by the Saints’ faithful on Twitter:
