Michael Owen suggests key player in Manchester United v Tottenham Hotspur

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur will face each other in the Premier League this weekend.

Former Liverpool striker Michael Owen has stated on Betvictor.com that keeping Harry Kane quiet will be key to Manchester United’s chances of winning against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.

United will take on Tottenham at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

England international striker Kane is likely to start the match for Tottenham. The 23-year-old has scored seven goals and created 12 chances in nine league matches for Spurs so far this campaign.

Former United striker Owen believes that keeping the Englishman quiet will be key for Jose Mourinho’s side.

Tottenham's Harry Kane

“Harry Kane has scored seven times in his last six PL fixtures but has yet to find the back of the United net in five previous games; if the United defence can keep Kane quiet that might be the key in what promises to be a cracking game,” Owen wrote on Betvictor.com.

“Defeat for either team would be a major blow to their title or, indeed, top four challenge and I expect to see goals at a premium in a tight, close affair.”

A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Under 2.5 goals at 4/5.”

Tottenham have got some form back at the moment, and Mauricio Pochettino’s side will head into the match against United with confidence.

Kane is playing well, and the English striker will fancy his chances of scoring against the Red Devils.

United, though, will have home advantage, and Mourinho will want his players to give their all and pick up all three points from the encounter.

The Red Devils have won only one of their last eight Premier League matches, drawing six.
