Everton winger Yannick Bolasie is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Bolasie will have knee surgery after scans confirmed that he suffered serious ligament damage against Manchester United at the weekend, according to BBC Sport.

The 27-year-old winger injured the right anterior cruciate ligament in the 68th minute of the Premier League encounter at Goodison Park on Sunday evening.

The injury must be a massive blow to DR Congo international, who has been getting messages of support on social networking site Twitter.

Everton winger Gerard Deulofeu has wished Bolasie a speedy recovery, and so has James Buckley.

The well-known English actor and 'The Inbetweeners' star hopes that the 27-year-old recovers soon despite being a Crystal Palace fan.

Bolasie left Premier League club Palace to join Merseyside outfit Everton in the summer transfer window. The Eagles have also sent a message to the winger on Twitter.
