The Arsenal star is reportedly open to a return to Spain.

According to Marca, Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has let it be known to former club Real Madrid that he could consider a return.

Ozil departed Spain in 2013 when he completed a big-money move to the Premier League with Arsenal.

He has since established himself among the world’s best players at the Emirates, with 18 goals in and 34 assists in 95 Premier League games to his name.

The Gunners have long been in talks with the midfielder to get him signed to a new deal as a result, with his current contract running out in 2018.

So far no agreement has been reached and now Marca claims that the German is open to a return to the Bernabeu.

According to the report, he is keen to return to Spain and prove himself at the club after failing to do so during his previous spell.

The current La Liga champions are also open to the idea, with club chief Florentino Perez recognising that Ozil would be a boost to their current squad.
