Reported Liverpool target Azmoun comments on his future

Rostov striker Sardar Azmoun

The Rostov striker has been linked with a move to Liverpool.

Quoted by the Liverpool Echo, reported Liverpool target Sardar Azmoun has claimed he would look into a move to Anfield should it be offered.

The 21-year-old Rostov striker has shot to prominence this season with a series of impressive performances in the Champions League.

He already has goals against both Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid, something that has seen him linked with several clubs across Europe.

One of those are Liverpool, with the Guardian claiming the Reds are targeting a move in the January transfer window.

At the moment it is just pure speculation but Azmoun has added fuel to the fire by admitting he would analyse the offers should they come along.

“Ajax, PSV or Liverpool? I have no received any offers,” the Liverpool Echo quotes him saying.

“If there are, then I’m going to take my time to look into it, whether it’s come from Liverpool or other clubs.”

Whether Liverpool do end up making a move for Azmoun will likely depend on what happens with their current forwards, namely Daniel Sturridge.

The England man has found himself on the bench again this season and rumours are plenty that he could be on his way out of Anfield.

Should that happen then it would not be surprising to see Jurgen Klopp make a move to bring in another forward, especially with Sadio Mane heading to the African Cup of Nations.

However, if he stays, then it is hard to see a move for Azmoun happening given the strength in depth the Reds already enjoy up front.
