The Newcastle United midfielder suggests his current boss is better than the Aston Villa coach.
The 29-year-old left Premier League-bound Hull City to join Benitez's project at Newcastle during the summer.
The Senegal midfielder has played under Steve Bruce - now at Championship rivals Aston Villa - Roberto Martinez and Sam Allardyce in the past, but Diame suggests that life under the Champions League-winning Spaniard is the "highest level".
"I worked with Steve Bruce, Sam Allardyce , Roberto Martinez and now Rafa Benítez. This is the highest level," he told So Foot after being asked what it's like to work with the ex-Liverpool boss.
"It really makes you want to learn and work thoroughly. When you see the career he has had, great players with whom he worked and the clubs he coached, you know that it is someone who can bring you a lot of things every day."
Bruce has worked with Diame at Wigan and Hull, but the 55-year-old manager is doing a fine job at Aston Villa so far. Bruce, who replaced Roberto Di Matteo in October, has had seven Championship games, winning four and drawing three to leave them just four points shy of a playoff spot.
He has won promotion to the Premier League on four different occasions, with two different clubs, and few would doubt that he won't do the same with the West Midlands side before long.
