Newcastle United are currently top of the Championship table by two points.

Kevin Nolan has predicted that Newcastle United will bounce straight back from their recent disappointments on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 1st December.

Newcastle lost against Blackburn Rovers in the league last weekend, and they were then knocked out of the EFL Cup by Hull City in their most recent outing.

The Magpies had previously won nine games in a row, and Nolan believes that it won’t be long until Rafael Benitez’s side start winning again.

“Rafa made a few changes, but now they’ve only got the league to concentrate on I think you’ll see another streak of wins,” Nolan said. “They’re too good for that league and I expect them to bounce back straight away.”

Newcastle’s first defeat against Blackburn came as a major shock, and their failure to beat Hull has caused some frustration.

The Magpies looked to be on their way to victory when Mohamed Diame gave them a lead in extra time, but Robert Snodgrass equalised for the Tigers, and Mike Phelan’s side then went on to win on penalties.

Newcastle’s attention will now return to their league campaign, with the Tynesiders’ next fixture coming against Nottingham Forest tomorrow night.

Newcastle are currently top of the Championship by two points, with Brighton & Hove Albion their nearest challengers as things stand.
