The Newcastle United captain has featured in all but one league game this season.
Lascelles broke into the Newcastle first team last season and earned rave reviews for his performances despite being unable to help them avoid relegation.
He has since gone on to establish himself as a key man at the club and was named as captain by Rafa Benitez in the summer.

Woodgate has been impressed by what he has seen and says he can see the defender getting better under Benitez’s leadership.
“He’s [Lascelles] captain of Newcastle now and is a leader and as they’re top of the league he can’t be doing too bad a job,” the Chronicle quotes him saying.
“He’s also playing under a manager in Rafa Benitez who is tactically perfect. Jamie Carragher always said he was unbelievable at setting up a defence and I’m sure Jamie learned so much from Benitez. Lascelles will as well.”

Newcastle will certainly be hoping that Lascelles continues to impress under Benitez and helps them to the title this season.
They currently have the third best defence in the Championship, having conceded just 14 goals in their 18 games so far, a record that Lascelles has been key to them enjoying.
It is one they will need to continue for the remainder of the campaign if they want to earn promotion and a return to the Premier League.
