Aston Villa currently sit in 11th position in the Championship table.

Aston Villa left-back Jordan Amavi sat down for an interview with the club's official website, and highlighted the togetherness of the squad as a key contributing factor behind their recent success.

The 22-year-old moved to Villa Park from Nice during the summer of 2015, for a fee believed to be in the region of £7.7 million, but has only managed to make 16 league starts for the club, after suffering a season-ending knee injury last term.

He is now back to full fitness though, and has made 12 Championship appearances for Villa, as he looks to work his way back to his peak competitive levels.

Amavi spoke to avfc.co.uk about his side's recent resurgence since the appointment of Steve Bruce, and highlighted a key area that has really helped the team perform to the levels in which they have been of late:

"The main aspect of our dressing room is the team spirit. It’s incredible. We’re all as one and have so much fun when we’re together. We enjoy each other’s company. “We’re a real team – a real squad. We are very tight and it’s a fun group to be around – but when the serious business of winning football games comes around on matchday, we’re totally focused. Everyone can see that.”

The Villans have strung together a seven game unbeaten run since the appointment of Steve Bruce as manager last month, and head into Saturday's game against Leeds United knowing that a win could take them as high as seventh in the Championship table.
