Queens Park Rangers fans will be hoping that their side climb the table following the appointment of Ian Holloway.

Speaking live on Sky Sports Now at 11:56 am on November 30th, former QPR midfielder and current Sky Sports pundit Ray Wilkins offered his opinion on the task faced by newly appointed Hoops boss Ian Holloway.

Rangers have picked up three points from their opening two games under the stewardship of Holloway, and currently find themselves in 15th position in the Championship table.

And Wilkins, who spent seven years at Loftus Road in both a playing and managerial capacity, suggested that it is still a possibility for his former club to make the play-offs, when speaking on Sky Sports Now:

"A lot of money has been spent over the years, and now he's left with a squad that Olly [Holloway] will galvanise, and he'll make sure they get themselves into a system whereby they can play. He has to get the consistency level back up. There's going to be a club in the bottom half of the Championship that catapults themselves into the play-offs, and there's not too many points from the bottom to the sixth place. It could be QPR, could be Aston Villa, could be Derby."

The West London outfit welcome struggling Wolverhampton Wanderers to Loftus Road on Thursday night, and Holloway will be desperate for a victory, as his side looks to build momentum before they face a pair of very winnable games against bottom side Rotherham United and Derby County.

Holloway is the kind of manager whose presence alone has an instant impact on the culture of a club, and in light of this, QPR could very well be the side currently in the bottom half of the table who mount a challenge for the promotion spots in the second half of the season.
