Report suggests that Chelsea back-up would be interested in move to West Ham

Chelsea's Asmir Begovic and Baba Rahman arrive for training

West Ham United are reportedly interested in bringing Chelsea's Asmir Begovic to the club in January.

Chelsea's back-up goalkeeper Asmir Begovic is being linked with a January loan move to the Hammers, and the Bosnian international would be interested in a move to the Olympic Stadium, according to ESPN.

West Ham have struggled defensively so far this season, conceding 24 goals in 13 Premier League outings, and the potential acquisition of Begovic, albeit on loan, would be a magnificence piece of business from the Hammers, should they manage to pull it off.

And a report today from ESPN claims that the 29-year-old stopper would be keen on a move to East London, after finding regular first-team football hard to come by at Stamford Bridge.

He has made just 15 Premier League starts for the Blues since his £8 million move to the club in the summer of 2015, with all of those coming before the arrival of Antonio Conte in the summer.

With the opening off the January transfer window just over a month away, there are likely to be developments in this story over the next few weeks, and it would be a signing that would without doubt strengthen Slaven Bilic's side.
