Leeds United boss Garry Monk responds when asked whether he's been told anything about Andrea Radrizzani's takeover bid

Andrea Radrizzani has confirmed that he is interested in taking over at Leeds United.

Leeds United boss Garry Monk has told the Jim White Show on TalkSPORT, which was broadcast on 30th November, that he is not focussing on the takeover rumours surrounding the club.

Italian businessman Andrea Radrizzani has now publicly announced his intentions to buy 50% of Leeds from Massimo Cellino (Sky Sports).

Radrizzani wants to eventually take a full stake in Leeds over from Cellino, but the initial deal is only said to be to own 50% of the Yorkshire club.

At the moment, it is unclear just how far along in the negotiation process Radrizzani is for Leeds, even though they have been described as ‘advanced’.

And Monk insists that he is not concentrating on the rumours off the field, as he just wants to make sure Leeds perform on match-days.

“To be honest with you, I just focus on the football,” Monk said when asked whether he had heard anything about Leeds' takeover bid. “All of that stuff if for the club to deal with whether it’s happening or not. As soon as we get it right on the pitch, that’s my job.”

Radrizzani has been dropping hints on social media website Twitter recently, suggesting that he will be taking over at Leeds soon.

Radrizzani first ‘liked’ a tweet hoping that he would become Leeds owner, before then posting a message that read ‘one step closer ...but need more time’ just a fortnight ago.
