Leeds' EFL Cup run was ended by the Reds at Anfield, but only after the striker had given them a good scare.
Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to heap praise upon Kemar Roofe following his display in the club's spirited defeat to Liverpool in the quarter-final of the EFL Cup.
As expected, the Reds enjoyed much of the play at Anfield and dominated possession. However, Garry Monk's men put up a brave fight and had numerous opportunities to break the deadlock themselves before Divock Origi did score for the home team.

Roofe spent much of the game playing just off Souleymane Doukara or Chris Wood but certainly looked to be the most likely Whites player to get onto the scoresheet.
The closest he came came in the early stages of the second-half as some excellent pressure from Leeds' attacking players led to Roofe getting the ball about 20 yards from goal near the corner of the box.

Despite the tight angle, the former Oxford man came within inches of finding the back of the net as his effort curled past Simon Mignolet but was kept out by the post.
The performance was the latest positive display from the summer signing. Although the search for his first goal continues, supporters who watched his performance at Anfield have taken to social media and appear just as optimistic as ever that Roofe will ultimately make the impact that makes the £3m spent on him (via BBC Sport) seem an absolute bargain.
