The Magpies recent record in cups has been nothing short of appalling, and they have failed to win anything since they lifted the Fairs Cup in 1969. The Geordies are desperate to see cup success, with the competitions not having even been deemed a priority in recent years under Alan Pardew.

Newcastle now have a real chance to claim some silverware, but they face a potential banana skin at the KCOM Stadium on Tuesday night. Rafael Benitez's side will go in as favourites despite being in a lower division, but the game may not be as easy as some members of the Toon Army are expecting.
