Tony Gale believes Sunderland need four new players in January

Sunderland manager David Moyes

Sunderland are currently bottom of the Premier League table.

Tony Gale has told Sky Sports News, which was broadcast on 29th November, that Sunderland boss David Moyes needs to bring in at least another four players in January.

Sunderland have shown some signs of encouragement in recent weeks, after beating both Bournemouth and Hull City.

The Black Cats also put up a good fight against Liverpool at Anfield in their most recent outing, but fell to a 2-0 defeat.

Sunderland’s improvement has not taken them out of the relegation zone, but it has moved them slightly closer to safety.

As things stand, Moyes’ side are three points away from 17th placed Crystal Palace, and Gale believes that they will have to invest heavily in the January transfer window, if they are to survive this season.

“They’re getting what David Moyes wants, but Sunderland will need to sign at least four players in the January transfer window,” Gale said.

Moyes has already spoken of his desire to bring in additions at Sunderland in the January transfer window.

HITC understands that Moyes will have around £20 million to spend, to try and improve his squad at the Stadium of Light.

Sunderland are next in action at the weekend, when they take on fellow strugglers Leicester City.
