West Ham are eyeing a deal for the Lyon midfielder in January according to reports.
The Hammers have endured a disastrous first half to the campaign and are currently just a point outside of the relegation zone.
With just a month until the transfer window, manager Slaven Bilic is likely considering potential recruits to try and turn their season around.

It appears one of the players he has identified is Lyon’s Clement Grenier according to a report from France.
He has made just four appearances for the Ligue 1 side this season, amounting to just 29 minutes of action.
That has sparked transfer rumours and according to Canal +, West Ham are keen on securing the French midfielder on loan with a view to a potential permanent deal in future.
They are not the only ones pursuing a deal, though, with Serie A duo Fiorentina and Roma also cited as interested parties.
Grenier has been linked with a move to the Premier League on several occasions in the past without it coming to fruition but perhaps this could be the moment he finally ends up in England, at least on a temporary basis.
