Manchester City are reportedly keeping close tabs on Ipswich Town youngster Ben Knight.

A report from the Telegraph suggests that Manchester City have been closely monitoring Ipswich Town wonderkid Ben Knight, and are considering making a January swoop for the teenager.

The 15-year-old, who plays as an attacking midfielder in the number 10 role, is considered to be one of the hottest prospects in English football, and has impressed with a succession of scintillating displays for the Ipswich academy side.

The Telegraph claim that City have extensively scouted Knight over the past few months, but expect to meet strong resistance form Ipswich, who are determined to convince the youngster that staying at Portman Road will help aid his development further.

Pep Guardiola has become renowned for working with young, unpolished talents on the training ground, and turning them into world stars.

Knight is a technically gifted young player, although his slight frame would surely prevent him from being involved in the first-team setup for quite some time, should a move to the Etihad come to fruition.

The Citizens have a history of snaring some of the country's best young talents, including the signing of Patrick Roberts from Fulham in the summer of 2015.
