Report: Juventus scouted Everton star Lukaku at the weekend

The Italian giants have reportedly fallen in love with the Everton striker.

According to Italian outlet Tuttosport, Serie A giants Juventus were busy scouting Everton striker Romelu Lukaku against Southampton at the weekend.

Lukaku was in superb form last season, scoring 25 goals in all competitions despite his side’s struggles.

That sparked rumours of a big money exit in the summer, with both the player and his agent discussing his desire to play Champions League football.

He ended up staying at Goodison Park but that has not quelled the rumours, which are likely to intensify as the season progresses.

One club who have been linked in the past are Juventus and it seems they retain that interest to this day.

According to Tuttosport, the Serie A champions had scouts at Southampton on Sunday to watch Lukaku and his Everton team take on the Saints.

The newspaper reports that because the deal will likely be an expensive and complicated one to get over the line, Juventus are preparing their move well in advance of next summer’s transfer window.

According to the report, they have fallen in love with the Belgian, who has seven goals in the Premier League for the Blues this season.

Whether they can convince Everton to sell is another matter, though, with the Blues likely to slap a huge asking price on their star man to ward off any interest.
