Leeds United are set to take on Liverpool in the EFL Cup this evening.
Monk has remained calm throughout his time at Leeds, despite the Yorkshire side’s run of excellent form.
The ex-Swansea City boss had guided Leeds into fifth place in the Championship table, and they also have an EFL Cup quarter-final against Liverpool to look forward to this evening.
However, Bartley insists nobody at Elland Road is getting carried away by their recent success - as Monk is keeping their feet on the ground.
“I’ve heard the manager say a few times – and I think he’s spot on – that the biggest game is always your next game,” Bartley said. “Our biggest game is this one. Once it’s done, and no matter the result, our biggest game is Saturday and Villa at home.”
Bartley has done excellently at Leeds, since joining on loan from Swansea City last summer.
The centre-back is already playing a crucial role in Leeds’ first-team, and looks to be an integral part of Monk’s starting line-up.
Bartley is expected to start at Anfield tonight, as Leeds look to cause an upset against Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Leeds go into the match at Anfield on the back of a 2-1 victory over Rotherham United in their most recent outing.
