The central defender has stood in well for Pontus Jansson.
Leeds United boss Garry Monk has been commenting on the club’s performance against Rotherham United this evening.
Leeds failed to put the Millers to bed in a game in which they had full control for much of the tie.
Defender Liam Cooper had to come in for the game. He put in a good performance in place of the suspended Pontus Jansson.

The Scot put in a solid display and Monk was not surprised by such a good performance from the player. He told TV Yorkshire that he was happy with Cooper, but Monk also confirmed other players’ performances had not given him a selection headache:
“I said I have got three excellent centre-halves. Every time that all three of them have stepped out on the pitch they’ve performed so it’s always difficult, especially in that area.
“Others did not perform so well tonight, so it is less of a headache. But we are all working well.”

Cooper is likely to drop out of the starting XI for the upcoming EFL game against Liverpool, with star defender Jansson likely to come back into the game. However, he will be pleased to hear that his performance enhanced his reputation with Monk even further.
However, it appears that some players did not do enough to impress Monk ahead of the Liverpool game and do not be surprised to see some interesting selections against the Premier League high-flyers.
