General view outside the stadium before the match
Liverpool will be looking to return to winning ways this afternoon when they take on Sunderland at home in the Premier League.
The Merseyside outfit will head into the match against the Black Cats on the back of a goalless draw with Southampton away from home at St. Mary’s Stadium in the league.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are second in the league table at the moment with 27 points from 12 matches.
The Reds are currently a point behind leaders Chelsea and are very much in the race for the title.
Meanwhile, Sunderland find themselves second from bottom in the Premier League table with just eight points from 12 matches.
The Black Cats are three points behind 17th-placed West Ham United and are in serious danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
David Moyes’s side, though, have won their last two Premier League matches and will head into the game against Liverpool this afternoon with confidence.
