Former Liverpool striker Michael Owen has predicted on Betvictor.com that the game between Southampton and Everton this weekend will end in a draw.

Southampton will take on Everton at St. Mary’s Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday evening, and Owen believes that the Saints and the Toffees will play out a draw.

The Saints have failed to score in their last two home games, against title challengers Chelsea and Liverpool, but I expect to see an entertaining game at St Mary’s with plenty of chances and goals,” Owen wrote on Betvictor.com.

A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Game to finish in a draw and Both Teams To Score at 15/4.”

Southampton are 11th in the Premier League table at the moment with 14 points from 12 matches.

The Saints are only four points above the relegation zone, and they need to increase the gap between themselves and the bottom three.

Claude Puel’s side will head into the match against Everton on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Sparta Prague away from home in Europe League Group K.

Meanwhile, Everton currently find themselves seventh in the standings with 19 points from 12 games.

Ronald Koeman’s side will head into the encounter against Southampton on the back of a 1-1 draw with Swansea City at Goodison Park in the Premier League.

Everton won away at Southampton for the first time in seven attempts last season (D2, L4), according to BBC Sport.
