Murphy claimed that Villa are not a big club and play in a dull atmosphere.
Murphy said on talkSPORT earlier this week that Villa are "not a big club" and suggested that Villa Park is never full enough and has a dull atmosphere.
His comments have unsurprisingly incurred the wrath of Villa supporters, who have had to suffer through one of the worst periods in the club's history in recent years.
Fans would likely argue that they are one of the best-supported clubs in England, let alone the Championship, and striker Kodjia certainly seems to agree.
He tweeted on Friday evening, ahead of Saturday's home clash with Cardiff City: "Ready for tomorrow? Let's show (him) who are the best supporters in the country".
Though Kodjia does not explicitly mention Murphy's name, the meaning of his message is pretty transparent.
Kodjia is already Villa fans' new hero after scoring five goals in his last six games, and he will have endeared himself even more by acting as the supporters' voice on this occasion.
He and supporters will be hoping he continues his excellent form against the Bluebirds tomorrow.
