Malaga's Juanpi and Sandro celebrate
He joined Malaga in the summer from Barcelona and has continued to impress at his new club. However, for Malaga to convince him to sign, it appears he had a small release clause put in his contract.
Arnau confirmed his concerns over the future of Sandro this week. He is quoted by El Desmarque as stating:
"A (player like) Sandro was very difficult to convince him and bringing him here would have been virtually impossible without a low (release) clause.
Sandro Ramirez at Barcelona
“I hope he does not go in winter, no team go crazy and that we would have to let him leave here. He understands very well that here he can grow. He feels wrapped and important and we hope to remain so.
"He's a goalscorer and is shortlisted but after market closed I hope there are no surprises, but I also hope he remains in the crosshairs of everyone in the future because that would mean he’s done a good year here. "
Sandro has been in good form since his move to Andalusia. He has scored five goals in 12 appearances for his new team and that will no doubt be catching the eye of many teams – including long-term suitors Tottenham Hotspur.
The news that he has a worryingly low release clause for Malaga can also only be a good thing for Spurs if they are to make a move for his services in January.
