Barcelona take on Celtic at Celtic Park this evening.
Barcelona manager Luis Enrique
Quoted by Goal, Barcelona full-back Lucas Digne has insisted he and his teammates will not be intimidated by Celtic Park’s famous atmosphere.
The La Liga champions take on the Scottish champions this evening in their Group C encounter.
The game will be a hotly contested one, to say the least, with the Hoops in need of a win to keep their slim European hopes alive.
Despite the odds being stacked against them, they have the confidence of securing a victory, especially after their 3-3 draw with Manchester City at home earlier this year.
The atmosphere in that game was one of the best at Celtic’s ground for a number of years and one that Pep Guardiola’s side failed to adapt to on the evening.
Digne, though, insists that is not something that will happen with him and his teammates.
“It is a special stadium, but we don’t fear the atmosphere,” Goal quotes him saying.
“On the contrary, I am looking forward to that experience, because in football you always want to be in the best games in the best stadiums.”
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers
It will certainly be interesting to see how Barcelona cope with the atmosphere at Celtic Park this evening.
That stadium is likely to be a lively one, to say the least, with the Hoops fans determined to give their complete backing to Brendan Rodgers team.
They will certainly need all help they can get, especially with Barcelona’s position at the top of Group C far from a certain one.
