Southampton manager Claude Puel
Saints boss Claude Puel hailed the performance of goalkeeper Fraser Forster during his side's 0-0 draw with league leaders Liverpool, and labeled him as extremely important to the team, as quoted by the club's official website.
The South Coast outfit have recovered well from a slow start to their 2016/17 campaign and currently sit in 10th position in the Premier League table, just five points outside the Europa League spots.
There are only three sides in the league who have better defensive records than Southampton, and their 6 ft 7 in goalkeeper has been a key contributing factor to that record.
And Puel hailed Forster's display against the Reds, whilst highlighting the importance of having a top class goalkeeper, especially when his side come up against the best teams in the league, as quoted by southamptonfc.com:
"Fraser made a fantastic save in the first half and this is very important for the team. It's important for us against a good team, who had some chances, to have a good goalkeeper, and Fraser works very well, with a fantastic save, and keeps his goal without possibilities."

The 28-year-old England international moved to St Mary's in August 2014 for what now seems like an absolute bargain £10 million.
The worry for Southampton fans is that if he continues to produce the kind of performances he has over the past couple of years, there will surely be a whole host of clubs towards the upper echelon of the game who will be interested in signing him.
Forster is under contract with the Saints until the summer of 2021, however, and if they can emulate their league finishes of the last couple of seasons, there is no reason why they cannot hold on to their number one goalkeeper.
