Crystal Palace's Jordon Mutch celebrates scoring
According to The Scottish Sun, Celtic are interested in a January deal for Crystal Palace midfielder Jordon Mutch – but face competition from Aston Villa.
Mutch, 24, joined Palace in January 2015, having played just 11 games with QPR following a summer 2014 move from Cardiff City to Loftus Road.
Mutch has endured a nomadic few years, and his fortunes at Selhurst Park haven't been much better; the midfielder started just seven Premier League games last season, and has only appeared once in the top flight this term, playing just eight minutes for the Eagles.
With the likes of Joe Ledley, James McArthur and Yohan Cabaye all ahead of him in Alan Pardew's pecking order, Mutch may decide to move on again during the upcoming January transfer window – and two clubs appear to be vying for his signature.

It's claimed that Rodgers is looking to boost his squad in the new year, and despite having a number of midfielders already at the club, such as Nir Bitton, Scott Brown, Stuart Armstrong and Callum McGregor.
However, Rodgers faces a fight for Mutch's signature, as Aston Villa are also keen. Mile Jedinak made the move from Palace to Villa Park over the summer, and Mutch could reunite with the Australian if Steve Bruce's men win the race for him.

Bruce was Birmingham City boss when Mutch arrived at St. Andrews from Derby County back in 2007, and even named him in his squad for a League Cup match against Blackburn when the midfielder was just 15 – before the FA ruled against inclusion.
Bruce may therefore target a reunion with the midfielder, and it's claimed that Palace will sell for the right price, meaning Mutch may have to choose between potential European football with Celtic or a reunion with Bruce.
