Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has told The Guardian that he is very happy with the way Dele Alli has trained.

Alli trained with his Tottenham teammates on Thursday, as they prepared for the Premier League game against West Ham United this weekend.

The England international midfielder has been struggling with illness and a knee injury, according to The London Evening Standard.

Pochettino has revealed that the 20-year-old midfielder looked good in training on Thursday.

“We are very happy with Dele Alli,” the Tottenham manager told The Guardian on Thursday. “He showed today in training that he’s in very good condition.

“We need to know whether we take the risk to play him against West Ham, put him on the bench, or protect him for Tuesday next week. We’re happy it’s not a big issue.”

Tottenham will take on West Ham at White Hart Lane in the London derby on Saturday evening.

Spurs will head into the match as favourites, and the presence of Alli will give them a huge boost.

Even the presence of the former Milton Keynes Dons star on the substitutes’ bench will be good for Tottenham.

The North London outfit are not in great form in the Premier League at the moment and need to pick up all three points against the Hammers.

Tottenham are fifth in the league table at the moment with 21 points from 11 matches, five points behind leaders Liverpool.
