Kevin Nolan played under Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew at Newcastle United and has offered the Eagles advice over his future.
Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew
Palace are just one point off the relegation zone and face title hopefuls Manchester City after four straight defeats.
As a result former West Ham United boss Pardew finds himself under increasing pressure and has been installed as fourth favourite to be the next Premier League manager sacked, according to oddschecker.com.
According to the Evening Standard the Eagles manager had a ‘positive meeting’ with Palace’s American co-owners in New York during the international break.
Under pressure Pardew
He has come out fighting since insisting his struggling side are not in a relegation battle.
“I think we are in a position which is false and we need to put that right,” Pardew told the Evening Standard.
Nolan captained Newcastle under Pardew where the manager was eventually hounded out only to see the club relegated.
And speaking on talkSPORT Nolan offered Palace some advice on what to do over his old boss’ future in South London.

“They’re just lingering above that relegation zone now,” Nolan told Alan Brazil’s Sports Breakfast.
“Before that I think they’d won three and drew one, so he needs to get on that (kind) of run (again).
“Alan is a fantastic manager, what he did at Newcastle was brilliant you know, I saw that for myself.
Newcastle fans gesture at Crystal Palace’s Yohan Cabaye
“His man-management skills are really good but technically, tactically, everything about him, he looks at everything, he’s recruited really well but I think he’s had a few injuries here and there, Yohan Cabaye hasn’t been firing on all cylinders.
“I don’t want to see him lose his job, Crystal Palace have got to stick with him… he’ll get it right.”
