Celtic have become the latest side to register an interest in the highly-rated wide-man.

A report in The Scottish Sun has claimed that Celtic have become the latest club to register an interest in Dundalk winger Daryl Horgan.

The 24-year-old has been attracting the attention of Championship trio Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Bristol City in recent times, according to The Scottish Sun.

However, the three clubs will have to see off competition from the Scottish Premiership champions, it seems, if they hope to land his signature as The Scottish Sun adds that they have sent scouts to the Republic of Ireland’s World Cup qualifier with Austria to have a look at the wide-man after watching him play for Dundalk domestically and in the Europa League.

The Irish Sun previously reported that his contract with his current club runs out in December, and thus, his arrival would come with little risk.

Given his form this season, it is not difficult to see why he is attracting such interest. He has scored nine times this term and provided numerous assists along the way.

And Brendan Rodgers may be hoping that he can replicate that kind of form at Parkhead to make Celtic’s front-line even more impressive with the likes of Scott Sinclair, James Forrest and Patrick Roberts already battling for a place on the wing.
