Hollywood star Russell Crowe is a huge Leeds United fan.

Russell Crowe has jokingly suggested that Leeds United should be looking at signing Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich on Twitter.

Lewandowski was named as the Bundesliga’s Player of the Month for October after firing in two goals in four appearances for Bayern.

And Crowe, who is a boyhood Leeds fan, suggested that Garry Monk should be keeping a close eye on the Polish international.

Crowe’s message prompted Leeds’ official Twitter account to respond, and they suggested that Monk would not be particularly interested in Lewandowski – as Leeds already have an in-form striker of their own in Chris Wood.

Wood leads the Whites’ scoring charts this term, after hitting the back of the net 11 times in 19 appearances.

The New Zealand international’s form does not appear to have gone unnoticed, with the Bundesliga’s official Twitter account now suggesting that they may recommended Leeds’ star striker to Bayern, in a rather bizarre social media exchange.

Wood’s next action for Leeds is likely to come against Newcastle United at Elland Road in two weekends’ time. It remains to be seen whether any Bayern scouts will be in attendance…
