Leeds United’s under-23 squad beat Wigan Athletic 4-0 earlier today.
Leeds United coach Jason Blunt has told the Elland Road club’s official website that he was delighted to give Alfie McCalmont a run-out for the Whites’ under-23 side earlier today.
McCalmont is regarded as one of Leeds’ hottest prospects, after impressing at under-18 level.
The youngster was handed a chance to step up a level today, as he was brought on as a late substitute during Leeds’ under-23’s 4-0 win over Wigan Athletic.

And Blunt said: “Another pleasing factor for me was 16-year-old in Alfie McCalmont getting a run-out.”
Leeds scored their goals against Wigan through a brace from Jack McKay, and solitary strikes from Omosebi and Mallik Wilks.

The Whites under 23’s have been in good form of late, and this win increases their momentum.
McCalmont was brought on for the last few minutes of the match, and the midfielder helped Leeds hold on to their clean sheet.
Leeds also played senior players such as Ross Turnbull and Toumani Diagouraga in the development match, as Garry Monk looks to keep the pair fit, despite their lack of game time in the first-team.
