Tottenham's Jan Vertonghen
Jan Vertonghen has been an integral part of Tottenham Hotspur's back four ever since arriving from Ajax back in 2012, and now it appears as if the 29-year-old may in fact be extending his stay at White Hart Lane.
He reportedly has two years left on the contract he signed when he first came to the club and has been in discussions regarding an extension since the start of the year, and it may well be coming to fruition. As reported by ESPN, the Belgian has hinted that an announcement regarding a new contract could be coming soon.
The news comes following Tottenham's entertaining 0-0 draw against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League, a game which saw Spurs taken to the limit by their German opposition on a number of occasions.
"It's important that so many of us are signing new deals and all think the same about Tottenham.

"The way we want to stay together for years and believe in what we are doing here," said Vertonghen as reported by ESPN.
"It is just great to be part of it."

Vertonghen's play at the back as well as his partnership with Toby Alderweireld has been credited as a key part of why Spurs are really starting to flourish.
Regardless of a new deal, Spurs will just be hoping that the Belgian can continue his strong run of form when they take on Bournemouth at the weekend.
